Roohi & Ravneet have been best friends since they met.
“We’ve known eachother since 2018. We used to be best friends and then he asked me out and we’ve been together ever since! On 31st May 2023, he told me to get dressed as he was taking me out for a special party – it turned out to be a surprise proposal that he had planned with the help of Glasshouse Events! It was a beautiful moment and I said YES!”
Tell us a little about your engagement– the functions & venue
The surprise proposal was wonderful! Glasshouse Events planned everything perfectly for us. A few days later we had an engagement ceremony with our family and friends. On the suggestion of one of our family member’s we found Swagat Receptions where we held the engagement party.
Tell us about your journey in finding and selecting your vendors, and your experience with them-
Due to the limited time I had, I really had to rush around to find my vendors. Most vendors were recommended by family and friends! We chose to go with Fotography_Iqbal to be our photographer. He was really great to work with and made us feel at ease during the whole process and this is why we are happy to have him as our wedding photographer too!
My makeup was done by Shakizee who is a local makeup artist in Melbourne. She was amazing to work with! And I will be working with her again, too for my wedding.
My mehendi was done by Heena the Happiness & outfit was by Riantas Official.
How easy or difficult was it to find South Asian wedding vendors in Australia?
We’ve been relying on family and friends to recommend vendors. As the wedding is approaching soon (end of August) we have many decisions to make. Our pheras will be done at Craigieburn Gurudwara and our Reception will be at Ultima Receptions, so I’m happy that these are confirmed alongwith our photographer & makeup artist.
